Working with students has given me the experience to tackle stress and anxiety that comes in many forms. I use tools from CBT to help break free from the vicious cycle of rigid thinking, mindfulness to calm the mind and bring the focus back into the present, and narrative therapy to refocus the mind on what is more meaningful to you.

Working in a university setting has given me years of experience with people going through all kinds of transition from relationships, to seeking progress in life, to leaving the known for the unknown. I found that I really enjoy the work of helping support people navigating that space that often includes some of the most difficult emotions like fear and overwhelming discomfort.

I believe therapy goes beyond working to resolve problems and reduce negative emotions. My focus incorporates using Positive Psychology, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy to build toward the person you want to become in your life and in your every day lived experience.

I believe that nature is therapy and plan to take incorporate out of office experiences including mindful and therapuetic walking in the woods and by the coast.

I feel the antidote to this busy, anxious society we live in is to return to the present moment. I include guided experiences and practice of mindfulness to increase the experience of peace.

Narrative Therapy has long shaped the way I see our identity and the ways we make sense of our world. I see that we become the stories we tell ourselves but that building new stories out of old that better reflect who we want to be can be incredibly empowering. I feel this engagement in values and meaning making can move you into a life that feels more worth living.

Grief and loss provide opportunities to dig deeper into what provides meaning and I'm happy to explore this especially challenging time.

Depression often represents a particularly stuck time and I offer an opportunity to explore the toxic narrative while supporting in moving toward a narrative of life that reflects ones deeply held values toward a more meaningful life.
