I know reaching out for therapy can be scary. I aim to offer a warm and empathic environment where you feel comfortable to move forward.
Therapist in Sandy, UT
Holistic Therapy addresses you as a whole person, as you are made up of interdependent mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional parts. I see you as more than just the reason you walk into our office and am not only focused on symptoms. I aim to integrate all facets of your being in order to help you achieve overall wellness.
The relationship between client and therapist is a crucial factor in therapy and so I work hard to foster a positive therapeutic environment. I know that I'm not an expert when it comes to your life, but I can help you draw from your unique strengths that can help you move forward on your own unique life path.
I am trained in many modalities and draw on many of them depending on the individual client and what they are working on. I don't believe "one size fits all" and that's why I like to pull from different orientations to best serve my clients.
While working at Symmetry Solutions (the premier practice in Utah focusing on Mormons dealing with faith crises), I've seen the heartbreak, hurt, and anger that often happens when your "shelf breaks." Having been through a faith journey myself, I know it isn't easy and that support is so important. My experience and training have prepared me to assist you in figuring out your way forward, whether that's developing a new faith system or spirituality, walking away, or anything in-between.
I'm a gay woman myself and a member of the LGBTQ-Affirmative Psychotherapist Guild of Utah, where I attend monthly trainings on LGBTQ-related issues. I love working either with people who want someone who doesn't need additional explanations when they are talking about the challenges they face in a heteronormative world, or with those who are still finding their way through all the issues that may come up.
I specialize in supporting women with a variety of issues including, but limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, spirituality and sexuality concerns, relationships, and stress. My goal is to empower women to help them become what they want to be.
