About My Clients
I work with women who are ready to define themselves beyond their pain but are currently struggling. My work with women includes all women-not only cis women but also trans women and all members of the LGBTQIA+ community. My clients struggle just like you and how women struggle deserves space that fosters unique healing. Despite being high achieving, well-educated and career driven, life is hard. But you know sometimes, the strongest people need assistance with life's unexpected events.
My Background and Approach
Before opening Revitalizing Inner Self Essence, I held various supervisory and non-supervisory roles. One of them changed the trajectory of my career. Two years into my career as a child welfare social worker I decided to make a change. I became a domestic violence advocate. This job was perfect for me; I loved going to work and working with such brave women. I got up close and personal with how trauma impacts women. I worked with women in many facets: attempted murder, grief from homicide, self-love, redefining family, redefining love, navigating systems, and dismantling stigmas. My biggest pet peeve was that the work was tons of: tell me all about you, here are resources and here’s a referral for therapy. One day, I realized that I really wanted to deepen my work with these women by becoming a therapist. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe strongly in working with all parts of an individual from a person-centered perspective. I love working with women in a non-judgmental way to help them rediscover their power. We are born with it and sometimes it gets lost as we navigate through life. I am honored to help such brave, resilient, and determined women heal, rediscover their power, and re-design their life in their vision. I am a trauma therapist. I am not a therapist that just listens and nods my head. I listen with empathy and discuss ways to deal with unhelpful and unhealthy thoughts and behaviors. I will teach you creative and holistic techniques to help you lean in, manage distress and enable you to move forward. You’ll learn to express and come to terms with the broad range of emotions involved in the healing process, from those that you may expect – such as sadness, loneliness, or exhaustion – to those that come as a surprise – such as relief, anger, or an overall sense of confusion.
