About My Clients
It may seem that the experiences you have been through, or maybe the ways you’ve been dealing with your emotional pain, are too embarrassing, too shameful, too big. You may be asking yourself: “Will anyone understand?” Or even: “Could anyone accept me if they really knew?” It's so important that you know that you are not alone. Though the particularities of your experiences are uniquely yours, this human life is full of complex pain and sorrows just like what you are struggling with now.
My Background and Approach
My approach is compassionate and strengths-based. It is important to me to highlight and reinforce your strengths. You are the expert on your experience, and so it is through our collaboration that we will find the pacing and strategies that will work best to support your healing and growth. I incorporate mindfulness, skills training, values exploration, and Motivational Interviewing into my work with clients. I have training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Counseling, Socio-Emotional Relationship Therapy, the Seeking Safety treatment curriculum, and addictions and problem gambling counseling. I enjoy working with individuals and families, and I am passionate about supporting clients working through trauma, grief and loss, addiction and substance use concerns, chronic pain, illness, health concerns, and life transitions.
