About My Clients
I work mainly with clients who have feelings of abandonment and rejection and have a tendency to engage in codependent behaviors. Many of my clients come to me after a major life change such as a break up from a long relationship, divorce or the loss of a loved one. I specialize in helping them to relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression that they might be encountering from this life changes.
My Background and Approach
I have more than 6 years of experience in mental health services, addiction, prevention programs and trauma. I have worked in different mental health agencies, schools, and also in residential programs. My experience has provided me with extensive knowledge in anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem and relationship issues. I have seen how symptoms of depression, and anxiety can debilitate not only our health I have also facilitated programs for parents such as the Nurturing Parenting Program. I believe in the body and Mind Connection. In my sessions I use evidence-based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Mindfulness, to meet the diverse care needs of my clients. I strongly believe in a holistic approach (mind, body, spirit) to therapy and incorporate interventions geared toward improving the client’s overall wellness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that sometimes due to our previous experiences we get disconnected from who we truly are. I also think that even if we want to change we don't have the tools necessary to make these changes. I think it is important to explore these moments in order to change those negative beliefs that are holding you back from your true self. My clients have described me as someone caring, and dedicated to help them to overcome their negative beliefs.
