About My Clients
I have a strong clinical focus on adults experiencing relationship issues and sexual health challenges. My approach to therapy is integrative and person-centered, and I genuinely enjoy working collaboratively to promote safety and curiosity in sessions. I have a particular interest in working with individuals in academia as well as with other therapists.
My Background and Approach
People I typically work with are experiencing life circumstances related to sexual health, their exploration of gender and sexuality, or some flavor of relationship concerns. I'm kink and BDSM positive, sex work/er +, and am experienced in working with poly+/ENM/open relationship constellations. Folx that work best with me engage in a non-judgemental, direct, affirming approach to therapy. I am a white queer person living with privileged and marginalized identities, and I strive to continue my learning and support clients in doing the same.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that human connection fosters growth. I use Attachment Theory to inform my practice which allows us to recognize how crucial human connection is to our overall sense of self and well-being. I don't believe that humans reach a point of stagnation; where there is willingness and vulnerability, we can cultivate change. Through my own therapy, I learned how to integrate curiosity and kindness towards myself and people in my life, and now as a therapist, I can reflect on how I was able to do that: with non-judgementalness, plenty of mistakes and tears, and with a therapist who would constantly meet me at their door with loving kindness. I strive to evoke those same feelings of sanctuary and exploration with each of my clients.
