About My Clients

I have spent the majority of my career working with young people and their families. I work primarily with adolescents and young adults struggling with life issues such as anxiety, depression, LGBTQ support, learning disabilities, autism, social pressures, friendship problems and family conflicts. It is a wonderful, heartening task to provide support and guidance as the strong people I work with navigate their difficult and complicated worlds.

My Background and Approach

I approach my work from the perspective that we all retain the right to feel love, experience meaningful connections and obtain challenging goals. It is important to me to create a safe, collaborative, trusting environment in which we work together to experience success and make lasting change in your life. My therapeutic style incorporates strengths based, solution focused, cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness practice. I provide a nonjudgmental and safe environment in which we can explore and solve issues collaboratively. My approach is transparent, and eclectic, allowing me to employ various treatment methods, depending on my clients' needs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Therapy looks and feels different for everyone. It is both empowering and challenging for most and it is okay if you are feeling some anxiety or trepidation. That is common. Important things to notice are that you feel ready to make changes and that you find a therapist you feel comfortable with. A goal of therapy is to help you better understand your emotions, behaviors and perceptions and how they are getting in the way of what you want. In this process you will begin to identify patterns and where and when they may be negatively impacting your life. I will provide a safe, nonjudgmental, respectful and confidential space for you. Together we will actively engage in the process of planning actions to enable change to occur. I will take care in assessing your concerns and in helping you to find the right solutions in order for you to feel happier and more confident.
