About My Clients
Therapy is an important place to explore many different areas within a person’s life. I believe that developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship is key to therapy. I strive to personalize the treatment of every client because therapy is not a 'one size' fits all concept. Empower yourself by mastering hard to manage emotions and build a mindful life. I strongly believe in the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for change, as every individual is unique.
My Background and Approach
The tools that I provide includes: Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), play therapy, executive functioning training for ages 3 and up, working with Autism, Dissociative Identity Disorder, C-PTSD, PTSD, and gender transitioning. My goal is to help the individual and view the individual has the ability to heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Carl Rogers once said: "It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried" (1961). There is always the ability to heal when provided the right environment, which I provide a warm and comforting environment to address multicultural concerns, LGBTQ+, transgender transitioning, advocacy skills, substance abuse issues, and trauma informed. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist with trauma and decreasing high emotional stress. I also am receiving supervision towards a client-centered play therapy certification.
