I am taking new clients for telehealth appointments from Washington and Texas. I am a queer polyamorous ciswoman (she/her).
Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Seattle, WA
I approach counseling from a Relational-Cultural perspective which is a feminist lens that focuses on developing a positive relationship between you and me to help support the client making positive changes in their life. This growth-fostering relationship can be used as a model to improve all other relationships in the client's life. I will be striving to create a positive connection with you and I will be encouraging you to assess your past relationships and how they may impact you now.
There are many hurdles for people who are trans*, such as exploring gender freely, without judgment, to seeking gender confirmation services. Beyond providing a safe space for trans folx, I am ready to write documentation after a single session to be used with other medical professionals to assert your readiness for any medical assistance with your transition that you might need.
Polyamory and other forms of non-monogamy are healthy and wonderful ways of engaging in relationships but it can be hard to find a counselor who is knowledgeable on non-monogamy and how it looks in the world. As someone who is polyamorous and is completing a dissertation on polyamorists, I excited to support you in your relationship orientation as it best fits for you.
