Hello! I'm Carly and I work as a talk therapist and trauma-sensitive yoga facilitator, serving folx as they navigate life's ebbs & flows.
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Willow Grove, PA
Incorporating the wisdom of your limbic brain to process trauma; attuning to developer David Grand's saying, "where you look affects how you feel."
Inviting somatic (body-based) and talk therapy practices together to honor wherever you are on your journey in healing from trauma.
I find the self-talk is often a mirror to the way we engage in the world. Acting as a collaborative therapist, I support in a co-authoring process that will hopefully better serve you in being more kind and compassionate with yourself.
Trauma is a force that each of us will face during our lives. Many things are traumatic, and some will feel near impossible with which to cope. From sexual abuse, to complex or developmental trauma, my aim is to support you with possible somatic-based practices (like Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, Polyvagal theory, & Brainspotting) to bridge mind and body toward resilience and healing.
My role as a perinatal therapist as well as being a mom continues to surprise and amaze me. The beauty of caretaking and parenting is certainly not without hardships, and my hope is to work with caregivers of all kinds, especially those undergoing bereavement and loss. The majority of my training is with Postpartum Support International.
As Edith Eger says, "all therapy is grief work." Considering the various losses we experience in life - including loved ones through sickness or death, but also of ourselves in identity and change - this theme seems to show up constantly for those I work with. I hope by exploring compassion and emotional tolerance, you can begin to acknowledge this profound presence in your life, and maybe move towards making meaning out of it.
