About My Clients
I work with a wide variety of clients, but over the years have received specialized training that qualifies me to work with young children (0-6), people seeking recovery from traumatic experiences, and people exploring their gender identity and/or transitioning (including transgender and gender non-binary individuals). In addition to these areas of specialization, I work well with clients seeking to overcome excessive anxiety and/or depression, children and adolescents of all ages, and parents.
My Background and Approach
I was trained at Smith College School for Social Work, an institution that is highly regarded for training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a form of therapy that helps clients delve into their subconscious and gain self-awareness and insight into the source of what's troubling them, and then resolve it! It relies on individuals being willing to engage in self-reflection. I am also a relational therapist, meaning that I believe the quality of and experience of the therapeutic relationship is itself therapeutic, offering clients the opportunity to explore how they relate to others, and opportunities to shift patterns they're unsatisfied with.
