About My Clients

Change can be hard, even if it’s good change or desired change. Perhaps you’re experiencing scary thoughts about yourself or your family. You might be feeling overwhelmed with worry, overwhelmed with responsibility, or like there is not enough of you to go around. Or perhaps you’re in a place of wanting to make some changes, or to do things differently, and you’re unsure what that could look like for you.

My Background and Approach

I believe that therapy (and life!) is an inherently relational experience. In therapy, we will co-create a space that helps to support your growth and ability to live in alignment with your values. I am not here to tell you what to do, but to support you in identifying how to live your life in a way that makes sense for you. This includes the identification and acknowledgement of the systemic and cultural factors that have shaped you and your space in the world. I have training in trauma-focused modalities and practice them through a lens of mindful embodiment. I strive for a warm, interactive environment in therapy, and utilize a person-centered approach as folks figure out and practice being who they're supposed to be, in parenting and in life. I have experience and special interest in interest working with parents who are parenting differntly, new, or new again, parents, young people going through a life transition (moving away, starting college, etc).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we cannot separate mental wellness from the systems we exist under. I work from an anti-oppression and anti-racism standpoint. I believe that all bodies are good bodies, and integrate tenets of HAES and fat-positivity into my life and work. I believe that all bodies carry wisdom, and that all bodies have the capability of achieving a settled state. I believe that therapeutic services are most effective when they prioritize a lens of embodiment and mindful body awareness. I believe that joy is a birthright, and reject the notion that we must in some way earn our right to it.
