About My Clients
I work with courageous folx, who have realized things in their lives have become too big for them to tackle alone, who are seeking support to reach their goals, want to acknowledge their inner strength and move forward. These are individuals looking to address life transitions, anxiety, trauma, abuse, LGBTQ+ issues, self-image, self-esteem and grief. I want to support first responders and other mental health workers.
My Background and Approach
Through out my career, I have conducted art therapy within the public school system, treatment communities, senior care communities, correctional facilities, within domestic violence shelters and private practice. I specialize in art therapy, directive and studio based, to help clients reach their therapeutic goals. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, pulling from Gestalt, Jungian and psychodynamic theories and utilizing behavioral techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy and Dialectical behavioral therapy. My personal approach is humanistic, offering a supportive atmosphere, creative discovery, authenticity and a person-centered experience. I do not provide ESA letters, FMLA or disability letters.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I encourage everyone to create and express themselves in a safe and healthy way. I have an interest in personal identity formation and the original characters we create to help us through different periods of our lives. We all have stories to share, change and grow from. I express my own creativity through traditional and digital art, costuming and model making. I enjoy many forms of art including animation and video games. I believe healed people heal others.
