Many of us experience transitions in life that can be emotionally taxing. For some, those transitions can be even more difficult depending on your level of support. I work with my clients to develop a sense of awareness and the ability to change aspects within their control.
When it comes to working with individuals and couples within oppressed communities, implementing traditional "norms" and institutional frameworks just won't cut it! As a therapist, I am am aware of the stress placed on select groups as a result of repeated colonial practices that promote more harm than good. While everyone's experience is different, I value working with my clients to creating their ideal safe space for healing and growth.
The LGBTQIA+ population is among the many under-served marginalized communities. It is a passion of mine, to advocate for my community and support those that have experienced discrimination, endured societal stigmas, impacted by health disparities and denied basic civil and human rights. There are few safe spaces for the queer community, knowing that my office/computer screen can be one of them is important to me.
