About My Clients
I emphasize diversity, creativity, and inclusion in my practice. I specialize in supporting and have been trained to work with people experiencing LGB+ and trans/GNC marginalization, as well as those experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, homelessness, poverty, and HIV/AIDS.
My Background and Approach
I believe that there is no limit to human capacity. I have created a safe and affirming space for you to cultivate an understanding within yourself that will help unveil the deeper meaning your struggle is pointing towards. There is a social origin to many mental health issues. I will help you recognize the effects of the larger societal and cultural environment that has shaped how you move through the world. We will explore transgenerational patterns and learned behaviors developed from a place of survival. Our work together will be a process of unlearning and learning. The ability to understand your emotions is a powerfully healing experience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer therapist, my own life experience has only enhanced my clinical skills. I know what it is like to function from a place of scarcity which is why I am so passionate about the clients I serve. I am not afraid of your darkness because I know the depths in which we have to align ourselves with our own authenticity. I will walk right alongside you revealing your shadow side and unveiling your inner light. There is wisdom and truth to be found within the struggles that we face. I believe that you have the ability to develop a deeper knowledge and acceptance of these conflicts and the strength to move forward in your life. The road forward is often a vulnerable one. I am grateful for the trust that you may bring to the process.
