About My Clients
Do you have a hard time processing, coping with, or even identifying your emotions? Do you shut down and isolate, or lash out and hurt the ones who support you the most? Unacknowledged and unprocessed emotions can often lead to behaviors you didn't think you were capable of, uncomfortable or alarming thoughts, and even a sense of hopelessness. Together we can work on processing and building the skills to cope with overwhelming emotions and find the best version of you. Hope is out there.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker with a passion for helping others find relief from their struggles with mental health; including, depression, anxiety, anger, emotional regulation, self-confidence, disordered eating, body dysmorphia, intrusive thoughts, trauma, and crisis. I work with adolescents and adults in both group and individual settings and welcome folks from all backgrounds. I am particularly versed in serving those looking for support with suicidality, LGBTQIA+ issues, personality disorders and men’s issues. My clinical approach is rooted heavily in both systems theory and empowerment theory. No person developed in a vacuum; we are all influenced by the complex environments we grew in and exist in today. I believe understanding the environmental factors that weigh on each of us and how they influence our everyday lives, is key to overcoming our personal struggles and finding a sense of control over our own lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of therapy. I believe in finding relief and feeling better one step at a time. There is so much in life we cannot control, so many hard things that no matter how hard we want to, we just can't change. I believe, even though we can't change these hard things, when we find the courage to deal with them, we can leave them behind. I believe we can take back our peace, we can take back our hope.
