About My Clients

I enjoy working with adult individuals and couples with a variety of presenting problems but find myself most drawn to working with individuals struggling with their identity, self-esteem, and relationships. I also find myself drawn to working with individuals and couples having problems related to anxiety and depression, substance use, stress, life transitions, and chronic illness.

My Background and Approach

I have a Master of Social Work from Simmons College. My clinical education and training is grounded in anti-oppressive, social constructionist, and postmodern practices, as well as in harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches. Most of my clinical experience comes from working with adults living with severe mental illness. I have worked in outpatient, residential, inpatient, and jail-based settings.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe a therapeutic relationship that emphasizes collaboration and transparency is critical to positive therapeutic outcomes. I also believe privileging a client's reality, building on a client's strengths, and honoring a client's choices is crucial to success in therapy. It is my hope that therapy will not only provide a space for clients to learn skills to overcome problems but also for developing authenticity. As an individual with marginalized identities, I know firsthand how liberating it can be to live authentically.
