About My Clients

Are you feeling overwhelmed by life? Did you used to be able to manage day-to-day stressors but are feeling a buildup of mental plaque? Or does something in your life need to change? Maybe you're finding a pattern playing out repeatedly in relationships, or you have something in your life that needs to change but you feel stuck. Are you exploring your gender, sexuality, or the form of your romantic partnership? I have been there and would be happy to work with you on any of these things.

My Background and Approach

My approach is to help you grow more into who you already are. Through reflecting on your past experiences as well as current thoughts and feelings, we can help you intentionally live your fullest life. This often looks like starting with your current hopes and fears, exploring their roots, and imagining your future. If you need help to cope with overwhelming feelings in the moment, I will work collaboratively with you to help you use and strengthen any tools you already have as well as develop new ones where needed and appropriate.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My beliefs are formed by who I am as an active member of the LGBTQIA community, and how the world has interacted with me as a queer trans woman. As such, my practice and beliefs are politically informed and come from an anti-racist, anti-fascist, and trans-feminist lens. Therapeutically speaking, I believe that humans continually formed by our relationships and that living more fully as engaged participants in this large and complex world invites us to develop our capacity for thinking. This thinking isn't just cognitive - is an emotional and relational process informed by who we are and how the world encounters us. We are impacted by relationships with primary caregivers, family, teachers and mentors, friends, romantic partners, and especially the larger relational matrices of the culture we live in. I believe that these impacts are profound, and that living in a socially just way means attending to the impacts and knowing ourselves.
