About My Clients

I have a great deal of experience with adolescents and families. I have specialized experience working with adolescent and adult eating disorders as well as issues related to childhood trauma and racial trauma. I am excited to address issues that impact the lives of young people, women and families. I am especially focused on addressing the needs of black and brown and queer individuals.

My Background and Approach

I operate from a humanistic, strength-based, and intergenerational approach. I work to uncover relational resources, options, and opportunities, to help improve people and their relationships and transform past losses and shame. I am willing to incorporate aspects of religion, spirituality, and faith into treatment at the client’s request. I am sensitive to issues of diversity such as race, ethnicity, sex, sexuality, and gender identity and am willing to incorporate these topics into treatment as well at the comfort level of the client. As a therapist, I believe it is my role to work with the client to co-create goals and help facilitate change while providing practical support and an empathetic connection. I have been trained in Family Systems Therapy, Contextual Family Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Family based eating disorder treatment. to inform my work with people. My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that people are relational beings made of a combination of physical, spiritual, emotional, social, and mental characteristics that influence our overall well-being and satisfaction. I believe that all humans are inherently worthy. My clinical and professional work focuses on issues of diversity inclusion with a particular focus on racial justice, healing from racial and historical trauma, and providing voice to the marginalized and oppressed including racial/ethnic minorities and members of the LGBTQ community.
