About My Clients

I have had the privilege of being a resource to individuals facing various challenges including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, parenting support, and bullying/school-related stress. I will be accepting, flexible, and non-judgmental, whether you're exploring questions around gender identity and/or sexual orientation, or just need someone who gets it.

My Background and Approach

I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work. My experience includes medical social work, advocacy work, and community-based therapeutic services with youth with high-risk behaviors and families with a high level of need. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Systems Therapy. I draw on interventions rooted in a multitude of counseling theories including but not limited to, mindfulness, imaginal exposure, experiential interventions, somatic intervention, and relaxation techniques. I am committed to providing a safe and accepting therapeutic environment that facilitates growth, insight, and change. Therapy is both a partnership and a collaboration. I especially enjoy helping clients to process experiences, identify areas in their lives that are feeling stagnant, discuss identity formation, and learn new coping skills.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My approach is characterized by curiosity, compassion, and the capacity to be present, non-judgmental, and empathetic. I identify as a white queer person and use they/she pronouns. Holding my own identities, I understand how important it is to explore intersectionality as part of your therapeutic journey. I work from an anti-oppression and trauma-informed framework and welcome dialogue about cultural and identity dynamics. I am committed to my own personal privilege and oppression work.
