About My Clients
Going through difficult times can shake your confidence and your relationships. You might have trouble sleeping, find yourself overthinking, and want to shut out the world. Or maybe you feel like you don't fit in no matter how hard you try. No amount of "perfect" seems to be enough. Life can feel overwhelming. Luckily, there are really great tools to help you feel strong and overcome the past. Call today to get the healing started.
My Background and Approach
Every person is different, so how I approach treatment will be tailored around what works for you. I like to break counseling down into 3 simple stages: One, let's figure out what works to understand and calm your emotions. Next, we'll use these skills to help you tolerate and heal any memories that are holding you back. Finally, we'll work on building great relationships and feeling good in your body/mind, so you can feel excited about your future. With tools like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and EMDR (my training begins 10/2022), I am able to help clients overcome perfectionism, anxiety, and trauma both in-person and online. I am constantly learning new treatment modalities because I always want to bring my clients the most current, effective treatment options available. But what is most important is that my clients feel brave and safe – that they can feel comfortable being themselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I understand how hard it can be to overcome stigma and ask for help especially if your family or culture don't understand. I love working with people who know they want a change, but need a little help figuring out how. I believe in a just world and want to help tweens, teens and adults to see themselves from a place of strength and acceptance. I love finding ways to help clients feel secure and start making the changes they want in their lives. I tend to connect well with most as I have a wide range of interests--everything from Marvel and gaming to sports. I like people who like to laugh and want to make a positive change in their worlds. I love helping people break free from trauma and perfectionism.
