About My Clients

Trauma can often lead to long-term struggles, including substance use, relationship problems, self-harm, difficulty trusting others, and feeling inadequate or as though things just won't ever get better. Oftentimes, we blame ourselves for trauma we experienced when we were younger or we experience difficulty connecting to others. Evidenced-based trauma treatment will help end the nightmares, damaging self-talk, dissociation, and allow you to become the person you've been wishing you could be.

My Background and Approach

I've been working with clients for over 15 years, initially specializing in the treatment of substance use, and expanding my practice to children and adult survivors of abuse and those in foster care. I have worked with clients in a variety of settings, including residential, inpatient, outpatient, group homes, and community based mental health. I utilize a trauma-informed and client-centered approach and I believe that we have our own answers internally, and may just need help finding them. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Master's Level Certified Addiction Professional, Nationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant, TF-CBT Certified Therapist, Registered Circler of Security Parenting Facilitator, and Qualified Supervisor for Clinical Social Workers and Certified Addiction Professionals.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Trauma does not define who we are, it is a small part of our story. I believe that we have the capacity to survive the unsurvivable. We have the ability to stop saying "It's my fault" or "I should have made it stop". I spend a great deal of my time advocating for survivors and advocating for change. Not just change related to sexual abuse laws, but change related to children and minority communities. When immigrant children and families were caged in Miami, I participated in protests and offered therapy services free of charge. When children were gunned down in Broward County, Florida, I joined a group of trauma therapists and offered free trauma treatment. I walked with Black Lives Matter and Women's March to support equality and I will always offer my services to anyone in need, regardless of our differences.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
