My Background and Approach

I use evidence-based therapy. What that means is that at Oasis, we offer you skills and tools you can implement right away. One of the ways we do this is by using data-driven, state-of-the-art therapy software, so we can implement feedback from your life, every session. This software keeps us closely tracking your goals, focused on reducing your symptoms, and helps you and me with early detection of ineffective therapy--all so that we get you back living the life you want. My approach to therapy is helping you find a balance between symptoms reduction right now, and looking at the deeper issues in your history that may have contributed to the most recent flare up of symptoms. By working holistically, I often find we can treat depression and anxiety symptoms without the use of medication.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

What does it feel like to be in therapy with me? ​ I welcome you, listen to you, and take seriously the issues that bring you into therapy. You will hear me reflect back my understanding and invite you to shape it until we know that I have it right. I do this to help you feel comfortable, and to get a complete picture of what is bringing you in for therapy. ​ Then, we take action by practicing concrete tools and skills to get you feeling immediate relief. I know anxiety can feel intolerable at times, and so from our first meetings, you will have some exercises to practice. The tools I teach you will be reviewed several times, using a habit-stacking approach. This method of building new habits is ideal for managing anxiety and depression symptoms, so when the strong waves of panic or desperation do come, you are prepared to manage them.
