About My Clients
I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and adult families. I work best with clients who are willing to do the deep, uncomfortable work and allow their authentic selves into the therapy space (laughter and messy cries included!). Clients/issues that I am most passionate about include all relationships, eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, religious abuse and deconstruction, family of origin concerns, and issues related to sexuality and gender.
My Background and Approach
I have worked at in-patient facilities, community mental health, and private practice. I deeply value authenticity, empathy, laughter, integrity, justice, and empowerment of others, which is what my therapeutic approach is rooted in. I am also a systemic therapist and aim to acknowledge how every internal and external system impacts your experiences and the pain you come into session with. My most used formal modalities are Emotion Focused Therapy, Multigenerational Therapy, Health At Every Size and Fat Liberation, Anti-Oppression Frameworks, Somatic Bodywork and a lot of Internal Family Systems Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am originally from Nashville and currently live in Seattle with my spouse and our two dogs. I enjoy spending my free time in so many ways, but this season of life I am finding myself spending more time outdoors, dancing, reading, having meaningful connections with my loved ones, snuggling with my pups, and playing all of the board games. Some folks I look up to are Tiffany Roe, Lizzo, and Megan Rapinoe. I share these details because it is pivotal to our work for you to feel comfortable with me, research proves it! If I sound like your person, or if you have questions about us being a good fit please reach out to me. Additionally, I believe that mental health should be available to all so I offer reduced rate services for folks in marginalized communities who cannot comfortably afford to pay the full fee for services.
