We live in a society that can cause anxiety and depression. Learning how to manage these issues can lead to a more enjoyment and peace. I teach choice theory for learning to choose responses rather than just reacting, strategies for smooth and effective communication, and help with understanding your behavior and others for less overall frustration.

Many times we have learned unhelpful behaviors that can get in the way of having a good relationship. Being in a committed relationship is difficult without someone to guide you through creating a foundation that will support your both going forward. I can help you understand how you can work together as a team to overcome struggles and create a relationship that is a safe and peaceful home.

Learning new ways of managing stress and relationships can provide a new outlook on your personal life and career. My understanding of the professional world combined with empathetic counseling can help you find your purpose to redefine and redesign your career. I can also assist with writing engaging cover letters, creating effective resumes, and conducting a successful job search.

My own couples counseling is what led me to become a counselor, and I enjoy working with couples to help them understand how they can choose their actions and communicate effectively to create a more harmonious relationship. I use the MBTI and Big 5 personality assessments to facilitate understanding about yourself and your partner, and Gottman's seven principles are employed to teach you how to create a respectful and nurturing relationship.

With solution focused brief therapy we can get immediately to work on your issues. Not all counseling needs to revisit the past and take a long time. I am action oriented and use SFBT to help you get some relief from whatever is troubling you. Even if it doesn't solve the whole problem, feeling better immediately can give you the boost you need to continue addressing deeper issues.

Motivational Interviewing is a technique that I use with Choice Theory to help you understand your motivations and goals. Sometimes we know what we need to be doing and want to be doing, but we are stuck and can't get started. I use motivational interviewing as a way to help you get unstuck and moving toward your goals.
