About My Clients

My clients are those who are new to therapy or those who have found themselves stuck in previous therapies, or somewhere in between. I work to support those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, stress/burnout, life transitions, relationship issues, self esteem struggles and issues around a lack of sense of self. Many of my clients have felt a sense of invalidation in their lives and currently struggle with reaching their goals or becoming their true selves.

My Background and Approach

I have 17 years of experience in the field. I am trained as a Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), an EMDR therapist and a Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) provider. Modalities I lean into to help drive the therapeutic relationship and process include Person Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy, psychodynamics, CBT, DBT and EMDR. My work experience includes both inpatient, intense outpatient and outpatient treatment settings supporting a variety of clients. These experiences have allowed me to develop a therapeutic approach that is balanced with a sense of non-judgmentalness, support, and validation with being challenged and invited to adopt new perspectives, feelings, beliefs, and compassion for oneself. Initially we'll work on providing you with tools to manage your current situation/symptoms before pushing deeper into exploring the deeper roots of what's brining you in and making more enriching connections between the past and present.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a true believer in our abilities to change and grow as individuals, and to not let our pasts dictate our present or our futures. My goal is for us to work together in a safe space to develop a healthier sense of self, and to gain better insight into the processes and patterns that were developed to help support survival but that are no longer serving you. When faced with challenges or adversities, we tend to adapt so as to survive by collecting coping mechanisms, perceptions, and beliefs about ourselves, others and the environment. While once serving a purpose and keeping us alive, these collections can eventually begin to stunt us and get in our ways of moving forward. Therapy can help us to develop more insight and confidence to see these patterns and to work towards helping to make exciting changes for ourselves, even if they feel scary in the beginning! We are capable of more than we know or believe sometimes and it is a gift to see how much we can grow!
