About My Clients

I’m passionate about working with teens and young adults of all genders, as well as women of all ages. I specialize in adolescent mood and substance disorders as well as perinatal mental health, including postpartum depression and anxiety. Whatever you're dealing with - stress over school or work, relationship challenges, adjusting to a new life stage, anxiety, depression, or just going through a tough time, I'm here to help you find a way forward to a place of peace, joy, and connection.

My Background and Approach

I am experienced in a variety of evidence-based practice models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Restorative Practices, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Ecotherapeutic Approaches. With the option of bringing our therapy sessions outdoors, we allow nature to assist in the work of healing and overcoming life’s challenges. Ecotherapy sessions incorporate movement, mindfulness, and a deeper awareness of our bodies and emotions. I offer in-office and teletherapy sessions, as well as in-home visits for perinatal & postpartum women. I graduated from Wheaton College (IL) with a B.A. in Psychology in 2009, and with a Masters in Social Work from San Diego State University in 2016. In 2019, I completed a 5-month Professional Ecotherapy Certificate Program through Wilderness Reflections. I hold a current certification in Wilderness First Aid through NOLS, and completed a 3-day Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Training through PSI in December 2019.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I woke up one morning wondering if there was a way to combine my two biggest passions - psychotherapy and nature - in a way that would bring healing to both the earth and its inhabitants. After a quick internet search, I discovered the field of Ecotherapy, and realized I had found my true calling. Several years, dozens of books, and a Professional Ecotherapy Certification later, Inner Nature Therapy was born. I truly believe in the power of nature connection to reduce stress, boost self-image, and facilitate a deeper connection with the world around us. If you have ever returned from a beach vacation or even a simple walk around your neighborhood park feeling refreshed and more positive, you know the benefit that nature immersion can have on your physical and mental state - and research backs this up. Incorporating ecotherapy alongside more traditional office-based psychotherapy can be truly transformative for those seeking healing and support - contact me to find out more!
