I work with clients 18 years and older, as a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, who is LGBTQ* affirming, trauma informed, and WPATH member.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in , CT
I am a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator; this helps me support my clients around topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. The work invites people to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.
In 2019, I continued my training in treatment for trauma and stressors through completion of EMDR training under Karen Alter-Reid, Ph.D. at National Institute for the Psychotherapies, and I am currently working on certification.
In 2012, I was trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to provide evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and their parents or caregivers, followed by certification in 2014. In 2016, I became a Life is Good Playmaker, to further help children heal from the impact of early childhood trauma. In 2019, I continued training in treatment for trauma and stressors through completion of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am a WPATH member and I have been working with transgender, gender diverse, and gender non-conforming individuals, along with family members and significant others since 2014. I offer support for individuals as they examine their personal identity, and I assist them in moving forward in life, however they determine that to be. I actively attend conferences and trainings to continue on-going education and expand my knowledge base.
I have a strong focus on the LGBTQ* community, and offer a safe space to explore and better understand personal identity and expression, and help support individuals in identifying how they can live authentically and wholeheartedly.
