My Background and Approach

I am certified in EMDR and utilize this therapeutic approach in conjunction with other approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. I hold a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Minnesota, and have over 10 years of experience providing clinical services to in a variety of mental health settings. A majority of my professional career has been providing individual therapy to adults with a focus on the treatment of trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, life transitions, relationship issues, and boundaries.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

“Family pathology rolls from generation to generation like a fire in the woods taking down everything in its path until one person, in one generation, has the courage to turn and face the flames. That person brings peace to his ancestors and spares the children that follow.” — Terry Real. “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” ― Rumi
