I have a passion for working with teens and adults yearning to work through present challenges such as trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, challenges with intimacy and attachment styles, self-concept, and helping you gradually learn how to weave together the fabric of the past, in order to find joy and healing.
My Background and Approach
Living and working in the Washington D.C area my whole life has allowed me to understand the unique struggles that youth and adults in our community face. I help you prioritize your mental health in order to experience joy and healing that is authentic. I have experience working with a variety of traumatic experiences, and with diverse set of age groups and backgrounds, ranging from adolescence to middle and later adulthood. I holistically blend attachment theory, somatic experiencing, brain-spotting, expressive arts, yoga, and polyvagal theory techniques in my work. I will help you bridge the mind-body connection so you can heal and cope with anxiety, sexual trauma, grief, medical trauma, perfectionism, and depression. By working with me, I will help you reclaim your life story. You will find yourself with new tools to support your new wellness journey. Together, we will forge a new path forward that leaves you feeling calmer and aligned with your highest self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in embodying an anti-oppression and anti-racist approach to mental health. As a trained social worker, I believe that our mental health is interconnected to the systems we are a part of. As a white therapist, I acknowledge my privilege and consciously work to be social justice allied in an authentic way that elevates the voices and experiences of BIPOC. I also actively practice self-growth through my own healing, yoga and mindfulness practice. In my spare time, I enjoy staying active through yoga, as well as hiking, HIIT training, and pilates. I adore live music, traveling, and stumbling on new restaurants and coffee places in the DMV area. Anything involving a way to enjoy a good breeze and weather day outside keeps me grounded too!
