About My Clients
I work with adult women, non-binary people, and gender expansive individuals who are struggling with disordered eating or eating disorders, body image concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, or want to explore ideas within interpersonal relationships and sexuality and/or gender identities.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is one of whole-person care. I believe that each of us has had unique experiences and journeys to get us to where we are today, and that everyone deserves care and therapy tailored to their specific needs and wants. In therapy work, I draw upon ideas from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, & Narrative Therapy. In my work with folks who are struggling with disordered eating/eating disorders or body image concerns, I also include ideas of Health At Every Size, body respect and neutrality, and All Foods Fit model. I grew up in Washington state near the Olympic Peninsula and have been living in Seattle since 2016. I attended Central Washington University where I gained my Bachelors in Psychology, and then earned my Masters in Counseling at City University of Seattle.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have always been drawn towards people: by how we each uniquely think and see the world from specific points of view. As a therapist, I feel it is my responsibility to hold space for my clients and their perspectives. I believe that therapy is an opportunity to explore and grow in not only our true selves and values, but also to identify and let go of any beliefs or messages that no longer serve us. My hope is that every client I work with feels more empowered and capable of making the changes they want in their lives.
