About My Clients

Whether you have navigated through life with depression, anxiety, BPD, or an eating disorder; or you are experiencing for the first time, recovery can be a scary thought! I believe the most important part of recovery is feeling validated and understood by your therapist, in order to best collaborate on your path to peace and wellness - whatever that looks like for you.

My Background and Approach

I am a Clinical Social Worker and a University of Michigan alumni. I completed my clinical practicum at Michigan Medicine’s Comprehensive Eating Disorders Program, and have experience in treating eating disorders in children, youth, and adults. Additionally, I have had the honor of working and continue to practice within psychiatric inpatient and PHP levels of care at Michigan Medicine. As a clinician, my therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental, and I often utilize humor in sessions. My approach is integrative and incorporates my training in many modalities, including FBT, CBT, DBT, and other psychodynamic approaches. My goal is to create a space where you will feel heard, validated, and safe enough to allow yourself to become curious about your own experiences.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that therapy can be an exciting, yet uncomfortable place to be at times! Throughout our lives, we have learned behaviors in order to survive painful moments that have likely not always served us in healthy ways. When we become aware of these patterns, we can actively practice new skills and ways of thinking to replace our old behaviors and thoughts.. isn't that so cool?! That means we are all capable of change at any point in our lives. In addition to this, I strongly believe that the relationships we have with food and our bodies are among the most complex relationships we have. This is why I work from an anti-diet culture lens and am extremely mindful about the way we talk about ourselves and our bodies, as this is deeply rooted to our self-image. We all have it engrained in us.. which is why it is so important to explore!
