About My Clients

The majority of my clients are either trying therapy again after a hurtful experience with another clinician or have never tried therapy due to struggles finding an appropriate clinician. If you feel as if you don't "fit" for therapy, then we will likely work well together! I work most often with individuals to process and integrate traumatic experiences including (but not limited to) religious trauma, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, and chronic illnesses or pain.

My Background and Approach

I've worked with clients since Fall 2018 and prioritize continued learning to grow my ability to best serve my clients. I am currently EMDR trained as well as Safe & Sound Protocol certified and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in training. These are all evidence-based approaches to trauma therapy that I utilize in individualized combinations for my clients. I provide services in many different ways: in-person (masked & distanced in our vaccinated clinic), telehealth, and intensives. I can provide telehealth services to residents of Arkansas & Florida. Intensives are available to anyone, though the intensive must take place in Central Arkansas.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I don't often share personal details (I have my own therapy sessions for that!), but I also understand how intimidating it can be to find a new therapist who will be safe! I have found that several of my personal experiences and beliefs help my clients feel more at ease working with me. Some of these things include being LGBTQ myself, coming out as an adult, experience with chronic pain & illness, being raised in very conservative & religious circles, and leaving an unsafe marriage. Like most therapists, I seek to be the safe place I wish I would have found at different points in my life. The issues I work with most commonly tend to be those things with which I have deep, personal connections. My personal worldview also informs who I am as a clinician. Some of my biases include a belief that we're all trying our best to be safe, we're capable of change & growth, and that it's never too late to try to find healing.
