Psychotherapist in Los Angeles, CA
I believe that eating disorders show up for a reason and that healing from the eating disorder involves understanding that reason and beginning to make peace with our complex histories and selves. Together we will work to cultivate compassion for your humanness and begin to heal your relationship with food and your body.
In addition to disentangling whatever is sustaining the anxiety that is keeping you stuck, we will harness mindfulness-based strategies for working directly with the nervous system to help you feel more ease and presence of mind.
As a trauma therapist, I prioritize safety and respect for your boundaries. I want to hear anything you want to tell me, and if you aren't ready or able to share your story, we can still work on tools for soothing the nervous system, decreasing symptoms such as nightmares or flashbacks, and creating safe relationships in your current life.
Together we will figure out what happened, or what is going on now, that is triggering depression for you. As we work to understand what is driving your depression, we will also collaborate to discover strategies for helping you feel better and start to build a life that feels worth living.
