About My Clients
You are woman struggling to take care of yourself. Your needs and desires have been neglected for too long and you want to purse the things that make you happy and alive again. It’s exhausting to continue this way and you are ready to rebuild. I work with women who want to learn how to navigate their lives with more compassion and care for themselves while navigating depression, health issues, major life transitions, work stress, significant loss and are in recovery from drugs and alcohol.
My Background and Approach
I have a Masters in Social Work, and my approach is rooted in compassion and justice. I have many years of experience as a case manager and therapist in community mental health settings. I have also been an administrator in nonprofits, a supervisor for an outpatient mental health program, and a field instructor for student interns pursuing their masters. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation and respect for the journey of loss and recovery. Many people I have worked with are recovering from drug addiction, homelessness, poverty, generational trauma and painful life experiences. The students and professionals I have supported have had these experiences as well alongside vicarious trauma and burnout. To support their healing, I specialized my training in Hakomi Somatic Psychotherapy. Since being a client of this modality for many years myself, I have found this approach to be deeply nurturing, safe and centered in trusting a person's wisdom and capacity to heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in your capacity to heal and to live a life that brings you happiness and joy.
