I'm a holistic therapist who believes in working with the whole person--mind, body, and spirit.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Austin, TX
In addition to private practice, I work at a school that follows a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy model. SFBT is integrated into my therapeutic practice when appropriate for clients. I have spoken at the Solution Focused Schools Conference, as well as guest-lectured on SFBT at the University of Texas, Austin.
My clinical supervisor while gaining licensure was a Somatic Experiencing (SE) therapist. Much of my clinical training was through a somatic lens and looking at how to body is impacted by trauma and chronic stress. I have continued self-study in this area.
Mindfulness is at the center of my therapeutic practice. I have many years of experience guiding others through mindfulness exercises, and helping clients cultivate a mindfulness practice into their daily lives.
I utilize mindfulness, breath-work, EFT Tapping and somatic experiencing activities to help heal and work with the many faces of anxiety. Anxiety has been the most common mental health issue I have worked with.
I have treated many clients who struggle with panic attacks. I have experience utilizing somatic experiencing, mindfulness, breath-work, and DBT when treating panic attacks. I focus on calming the Sympathetic Nervous System.
I have worked with adolescents for many years and have experience working with the many challenges that face our adolescents today. Working within the public school system, I have helped adolescents navigate family issues, dating violence, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and many mental heath crises.
