About My Clients
Sometimes life can be overwhelming. We might have difficulties with our relationships, our pasts, or even our own selves and feel that we might even get in our own way. We might feel frustrated that no one can see how everything we're dealing with just adds up to a giant cluster. That's where I can help. I work with members of the LGTBQ+, Kink, and Polyam communities and help them to untangle whatever unique mess they're dealing with--from anxiety and depression to childhood trauma.
My Background and Approach
I believe in an integrated approach--not every issue is a nail, and we will search through the toolbox together for the right tool. Not every client benefits from homework and worksheets. Ultimately the therapeutic relationship we build as we explore your experience is the curative factor. My role is that of a trusted helper and supporter, who will call you out when needed or point out patterns that you have grown beyond. I believe that you are the expert in your own life and that you have all the tools necessary to overcome any obstacle. I have both professional and personal experience with a variety of individuals all across the gender and sexuality spectrums. I have assisted people through anxiety and depression and help overcome past trauma. I work to understand the intersectionality of my clients' lives and how all their faucets of self interact to form a delightful work in progress. I guide clients in understanding these parts as well, and help them accept themselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and am passionate about helping others become more competent in serving our community, especially our trans and nonbinary siblings. I believe in meeting people where they are on their journey of self exploration and believe in acceptance. I think that we are always learning and growing. I believe that our past selves, while maybe making decisions our current selves wished we didn't, did the best they could with the information they had at the time and got us where we are today. I believe in vulnerability and working to love ourselves and becoming the adults we needed as children. And, I believe that everyone can heal.
