I work with clients to help them understand and heal from the legacy of trauma. My clients come to me having experienced a wide array of symptoms that can range from difficulties with the ability to trust others to feelings of anxiety or hyper-vigilance to feelings of hopelessness. Many of my clients may be experiencing difficulties with attention, bouts of depression or irritability, as well as struggling with feelings of shame and unworthiness, and perhaps a loss of interest in life.
I have experience working with individuals and groups who are working through challenges to include but are not limited to: trauma, adversity & resilience, attachment & relationships, gender & identity, systemic oppression, substance use, phobias, anxiety & depression, existential dilemmas & spiritual formation, racial & ethnic identity exploration, exploring kink & BDSM, death and dying, and exploring ethical non-monogamy.
Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.

As a Chicana (bilingual and bicultural) my aim is to privilege cultural contexts in individual therapy and neuropsych assessments as well as to promote more effective strategies for change. Neuropsychological evaluations consider and assess the relationship between brain and behavior as well as the emotional sequelae of neurological disorders. I work with black, indigenous, and other people of color who struggle with intergenerational/historical trauma in their relationships and everyday life.
I specialize in treating trauma, emotional suffering, and psychological stress. My experience ranges from generalized anxiety, PTSD (sexual trauma, domestic violence, attachment trauma), major depression, gender, self-harm, substance use & disassociated disorders. I utilize an anti-oppressive framework. I affirm all binary & non-binary individuals, genders, races, ethnicities, spiritual orientations, sexualities, and intimate relationship frameworks.
Empowerment, empathy, compassion, and trust are the pillars upon which I build a safe healing space for clients to overcome obstacles. I look forward to providing an engaging, educational, and life altering experience in all sessions, increasing mental strength, and providing a smoother ride ahead in life.
Does this sound familiar? You’re a high achieving individual and to the outside world, you seem “fine.” Maybe even better than fine, others likely see you as having it all together. The picture of success. They’d be surprised to learn that internally you struggle to feel fine and in fact, sometimes, you feel like you’re not good enough at anything. The perfectionistic standards are impossible. The self-criticism is depleting. The emotional labor is exhausting. I get it and I can help!
