About My Clients
If you’re anything like me, then you’re highly aware of sensory-input, whether it be lights, sounds, and even the emotional states of others. My clients tend to fall under the Neurodivergent umbrella, and benefit from a sensory-aware environment that also aims to support executive function. My clients may also struggle with depression, participate in nerd-culture, spiritual deconstruction, and are members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
My Background and Approach
My life was changed when someone took the time to listen to me without judgement. I hope I can be that person for you! I believe that we all have the tools inside of us to make the changes and choices that we need to make, and often time we’ve learned to ignore our gut intuition. I am here help you relearn how to listen to your intuition and focus on your needs using empathy, unconditional positive regard, and practical tools ( as needed) for you to meet your goals. Sometimes emotions and experiences can be overwhelming to talk about. When this happens, I like to integrate different forms of expressive art into therapy. Whether it’s listening to and discussing a meaningful song, a character you’ve created, poetry, or recent works of art, it can be helpful to let your brain express and process in a way that feels comfortable to you. Additionally, I am in training to lead Dungeons and Dragons Group Therapy, beginning this Summer 2024!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as being on the Asexual spectrum and being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am committed to being a safe place to explore gender and sexuality, being gay-affirming, and advocating for equality in our larger social structure. I believe that all members of the LGBTQIA+ community deserve to exist and love without hate or discrimination, and deserve to be accepted for who they are.
